In a heartfelt and powerful statement, the Honourable Commissioner for Works, Housing and Urban Development in Benue State, Hon. Tiza Isaac Imojime Orya, has come out boldly to condemn the latest wave of violent attacks that have rocked various communities across the state.

The renewed attacks, believed to be carried out by suspected herdsmen, have led to the displacement of families, destruction of homes, and the loss of innocent lives. Describing the situation as tragic and deeply unacceptable, Hon. Tiza expressed sorrow and outrage at the continued bloodshed.

“These brutal attacks are tearing through our communities, displacing families, destroying homes, and claiming innocent lives. This is not just a Benue problem — it’s a national security threat,” the Commissioner said.

Hon. Tiza extended his condolences to the Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, as well as to the people of the affected local government areas, including Ukum, Logo, Kwande, Otukpo, Buruku, Gwer and Gwer West. He called for urgent action and unity from leaders, communities, and all well-meaning Nigerians.

“We must unite as a people to defend our land and our future,” he emphasized.

Hon. Tiza’s message was relayed through his media and publicity aide, Civir Terhemba Injo Jabi, who reaffirmed the Commissioner’s commitment to the safety and development of the state.
